Octobubble the Baby Octopus made his first appearance before Projectarian even existed, and then showed up in a magazine a few years later. Now he’s officially in my shop and also headed to Hobbii Plus!

This sweet little amigurumi is pretty easy to make and works up fast too. You’ll join the tentacles by crocheting as you go, so the whole model is made in one piece except for the eyes which you’ll sew on at the end.

Being a simple pattern, this model is ideal for crocheting with furry yarn too! I had a lot of fun making the example below, and here you can see the size difference too. It turns out quite a lot larger made with bulky yarn like fur. I used eyelash fur for this example but you can really use any fur yarn. The pattern contains info on how to pick furry yarn and what hook to pair it with.

If you’re new to crocheting with fur, or have had difficulty with it before, check out my video for hacks on crocheting with fur yarn easily.
Octobubble also makes a cute baby for Apollo the Octopus so you can have a whole octopod family!

I hope you enjoy this pattern and can’t wait to see your projects! Please share them with me by tagging @Projectarian. Use #OctobubbleTheBabyOctopus to share and browse more pics. Beam the Rainbow Monitor is coming next and I am working on something new in partnership with Hobbii which I am very excited to announce in the coming months. Make sure you’re subscribed to my mailing list so you don’t miss any projects!
Thanks for stopping by and I’ll see you again soon.
